indexRFID™, powered by Retail Security Group, is where the tags become inventory. Every encoded label reports into one account: received, counted, and reconciled against the POS you already run.
What indexRFID does
- Tag level inventory. Each encoded label is an individual record, so two identical items are still two distinct entries with their own history.
- Receiving. Sweep inbound cartons with the C8001 handheld and verify deliveries against what was expected before stock hits the floor.
- Encoding. Blank labels are encoded right from the handheld during receiving. No printer is required to tag goods. For volume runs, indexRFID drives the C8005 printer, printing and encoding labels from the same receiving data.
- Counting. Full floor counts run from the handheld, and counts made with no Wi-Fi upload automatically once the connection returns.
- Reconciliation. After a count, indexRFID produces a report to compare against Shopify, Square, Lightspeed, or any other POS. Connect Shopify and the compare happens product by product, with approved corrections pushed back to your store.
- Catalog import. Your product catalog imports from a CSV file in the portal, and re importing the same file updates products in place. Shopify stores can sync the catalog in instead.
- Reorder alerts. Give a product a par level and, after a count, the dashboard flags what fell below it, so reorders come from a real count instead of a guess.
- Shrink visibility. Missing items can be marked sold or written off item by item, right from the count result, so the floor record stays honest.
- Activity history. Receiving, counts, imports, and sync activity are logged per store, so you can always see what happened, who did it, and when.

Does RFID inventory software replace my POS?
No. indexRFID works alongside the POS you already use and never replaces it. Run it fully standalone with no integration, comparing the reconciliation report against your POS numbers, or connect it to a major platform like Shopify to unlock more: your catalog and on hand counts sync in, every product reconciles against the floor, and corrections you approve push back to your store. Nothing writes back without your approval.
How is indexRFID licensed and what does it cost?
indexRFID is licensed per location: $995 per year, or $99.95 per month, for each store on the account. Year one is included with the $5,995 Starter Kit. There are no per device or per user fees, so add handhelds and printers without adding software cost.
How does my product list get into indexRFID?
Two ways. Import a CSV of your catalog in the portal, starting from the blank template if you like, and re import the same file anytime to update products in place. Or connect Shopify and the catalog and on hand counts sync in. Either way, products are ready to encode and count.
Where does the software run?
indexRFID runs in two places: the back office portal at www.indexrfid.com, which works in any browser, and the indexRFID app on the C8001 handheld reader on the floor. Your account is provisioned within 1 business day of ordering and login details are emailed.
Can indexRFID handle more than one store?
Yes. One indexRFID account covers every store, with all hardware reporting into the same account and licensing priced per location. Multi store retailers work with RSG on a rollout quote so hardware is sized per location.
