In Practice
Case counts without opening the case
- Count trays in seconds. A handheld reader sweeps a case or tray and reads every tag in range, piece by piece counting disappears.
- Every piece is individually identified. Each tag carries its own EPC, so two identical rings are still two distinct records in indexRFID.
- Encoded in store. Tags are printed and encoded on the C8005 printer, matched to your own item numbering.
Jewelry retailers often run this format alongside apparel hangtags or adhesive labels on one indexRFID account. Compare all three formats on the labels page, or start with the Starter Kit.
Frequently Asked
RFID jewelry tag questions
How do RFID jewelry tags attach to rings, watches, and chains?
The C8103 loop attaches or barbell fastens around the shank, band, or clasp, the same way a conventional jewelry price tag does. The compact form factor is sized for pieces where a hangtag would be too large.
Why use RFID for jewelry inventory?
Jewelry is high value, small, and counted often. With RFID jewelry tags, a tray or case is counted in a sweep of the handheld reader instead of piece by piece, so daily case counts stop being a burden.
Can small metal items interfere with RFID reads?
Metal can affect any UHF RFID read, which is why the tag hangs off the piece on a loop rather than sitting flat against it. RSG can ship a sample pack so you can validate reads on your actual merchandise before committing to a quantity. Request a sample pack.
Can I order RFID jewelry tags without buying a full kit?
Yes. Label packs are open to any buyer, in packs of 1,000 at $89.95 per 1,000, with card checkout and $19.95 nationwide flat rate shipping.
