First RFID system? The Starter Kit bundles this printer with the C8001 handheld reader, 2,000 labels, and a year of indexRFID software for $5,995.

In Practice

Why the printer lives in your store, not at a factory

  • Tag on arrival. indexRFID sends the batch to the printer as cartons land at receiving, so merchandise carries a live RFID tag before it reaches the floor.
  • Any merchandise mix. Switch between apparel hangtags, adhesive labels, and jewelry tags on one machine.
  • Reprints on demand. Damaged tag, returned item, or a price change: print and encode a replacement in seconds instead of ordering pre encoded stock.

Encoding is the first step of the four step RFID workflow: encode labels, apply them to merchandise, count the floor with a handheld reader, and reconcile in indexRFID against the POS you already run. See how it works.

Frequently Asked

RFID printer questions

Does an RFID printer encode the tag or just print it?

Both, in the same pass. The C8005 prints the visible face of the label (barcode, price, product text) and writes the EPC to the RFID chip inline. The label comes out ready to attach.

Which labels does the C8005 print and encode?

All three RSG label families: C8102 apparel hangtags, C8101 adhesive labels, and C8103 jewelry tags. It supports direct thermal and thermal transfer printing.

Do I need the printer if I buy the Starter Kit?

No. The Starter Kit already includes one C8005 printer along with the C8001 handheld reader, 2,000 labels, and a year of indexRFID software. The standalone printer is for stores adding a second encoding station or replacing a unit on an existing account.

How does the printer connect?

USB, with network options supported. It has a desktop footprint and is built for the retail floor or back room. Ribbon compatibility and full setup are covered in the onboarding documentation included with each order.
